NORDIC WALKING
facts | useful information | schedule

NOW: PRIVATE CLASSES ONLY!

FREQUENCY IN THE WEEK
For an optimum and beneficent result:
The W.H.O. recommendations:
A moderate activity up to 30 minutes a day: normal walking and stairs for instance.
Once this level is reached you can add a 45- 60 minute session twice a week of a slightly more intense activity that still allows you to maintain a conversation.
"Nordic Walking" perfectly matches those requirements.
One classe a week will help you to get into the rythm.
Two will give you that extra "health-effect"!

COURSES DURING THE YEAR 2009: private classes only!
LEVELS
The Tonic level (T) is for you if you walk normally at 5km/h (5-12people, duration: approx. 1h15min.)
The Calm level (C) is adapted for people walking slower because of painful joints or balance trouble (5 people max., duration: approx. one hour).

The schedule is on the french part:
->"Nordic Walking" -> "Calendrier"
(You can occasionally switch Tuesday with Thursday classes, but the Saturday classes are exclusively for those who signed in on that day.) In order to insure the best possible group dynamic, you are expected to accomplish your course within the planned courses. The replacement of one class per course is allowed. Beginners are welcome to attend  the first two weeks of a course.  The proper technique needs 1-2 lessons to be learned. From the third lesson on it has become "automatic" and one can progress in the quality and intensity of the movement according to chosen goal.
You can come to courses all year round, or use them as a springboard to go on in your neighbourhood.

Course 1: "Introduction: the Turtles'Start off": 3 weeks
Course 2:"The Hares'Start off"
Course 3: June and September: WORKSHOPS: Video gate-analysis, specific exercises to benefit your technique, efficiency and comfort, recall of the the adjustments of your technique to the up- and downhill walk.  Limited number of participants
Course 4: "The Cicadas'Health" = "kick off" after the summer break, for the" aficionados"
Course 5: "The Ants'Effort"
Course 6: "Where's the Snow?"
